Wish Me Away: Film Review
The documentary director-producer Bobbie Birleffi and Beverlyhead out country singer Chely focused on Wright.
With gay marriage in the state of New York, at the same time, some Republican candidates have reiterated their opposition to gay rights, legalized, the theme is to polarize the country. The timing of this debate is crystallizes in Wish Me Away – a documentary about torture from the country singer Chely Wright – who won the Jury Prize at the Upcoming Movies Festival just concluded in Los Angeles. Bobbie Birleffi Administration and head Beverly have developed a piece of first-class documentary of Upcoming Movies. And ‘the right time for this film to reach the public and to improve the conversation on a controversial topic.
Wright grew up in the middle of the Bible Belt in Kansas. He has always dreamed of, in Nashville, and settled there, while still a teenager and, finally, on top of country charts. But she knew, even though I grew up in Kansas, that their sexual desires of their place in conflict with his family and the musical universe very conservative, they hope to conquer. He prayed fiercely for a change, and people over the years, but remained between two worlds, carrying prisoners to the brink of suicide.
Wright has allowed intimate access of directors in the coming weeks before their decision, while promoting his autobiography.Family members, friends and colleagues in Nashville to talk openly to the camera. The only person who would have worked had Chely mother, and the film is never enough to the heart of this troubled relationship. On the other hand, has Chely father (divorced from the mother) was a strong advocate and speaks strongly of his unconditional love for his daughter.
The Upcoming Movies makes effective use of music in it on Wright turbulence. There are some gaps in the narrative. Some scenes show Wright in therapy sessions with their ministers to support their coming-out process is involved, we would like to know more about where the church is part of the South, not so generally welcoming gays. In all these scenes Wright emerges as a no-nonsense woman incredibly simple. During his coming-out process, appear when Chely and her father on The Oprah Winfrey Show and the queen of television, wiping away a tear, many in the audience sure to follow the example. A final title tells us that he received threatening letters from fans before, but Wright feels satisfied that making life a little ‘easier for those who have followed her.
